We had such a great time the week we stayed. The cabin welcomed us with a bottle of red wine, a loaf of bread some toffee sweets and full tea and coffee making facilitie including a FRESH pint of milk, not UHT pots. The bed was über comfy, the feather down duvet was great along with the pillows too. Full cooker and oven, quick boil kettle, what more could we ask for. I loved that there was a comfy leather sofa, tv, playstation, magazines, maps, tourist info, walk guides, DVDs and games. We can't wait to come back.

Both myself and my partner stayed here for 4 nights with our dog. Upon arrival, we found a bottle of wine, chocolates, milk, bread and treats for our dog, left in the cabin by staff. A nice touch. The location is excellent if you want to do any walking or climbing. The cabin is very cosy and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We would definitely like to return in the near future.

Stayed here with hubby and 13yr old daughter. Great location and quiet setting, even though on a main road the traffic noise was not a problem at night. Maple Lodge was very cosy and daughter enjoyed the quirkiness of sleeping in the roof. The duvets were lovely and bed was comfy. There is only a 2 seater sofa so were squabbling for a seat in the evenings whilst it was raining outside! Cooking facilities were ok , could've done with more than one wine glass though! Bathroom was ok but really needs a refurb as old looking and shower with mold stains which isn't very pleasant. It was cleanish but not to the standard I would expect. Would've been a lot nicer had it had a bit more tlc. All in all accommodation was ok but couldn't stay in it longer than a week.

We loved staying in this self contained cabin which had all of the facilities you would need if you are after self catering. It was extremely cosy and was a great retreat, especially in the evening after a days hiking/swimming/canoeing etc. all of which are easily accessible to the site. Pretty much everything you would look for in that part of the world is very close by and the service is lovely, welcoming and fuss free, which lets you get on with your break.

We wanted reasonably priced accommodation for two that would be comfortable for a weeks stay. Planning to be out in the hills all day, and doing a lot of exercise, we wanted to be able to wind down in the evenings. Maple lodge is ideally situated in one of the prettiest valleys in Snowdonia. It is well appointed, we just had to bring food and ourselves. Although, with a great welcome pack, we didn't even need food on the first night! With everything else to hand, it made the week for us. Would recommend this accommodation, a great place to stay. Claire and her team were friendly and could not do too much for us, we will be back for sure.

Claire was very kind, friendly and helpful. The Cabin was clean and tidy and there was a lovely welcome pack on arrival. Our two boys liked the bedroom up the ladder! Ideal location for walks and two miles down the road are some lovely pubs and an award winning ice cream parlour... definitely worth a visit.

We discovered Red Dragon Holidays last year on our first trip to Snowdonia, after passing the site several times on route to Snowdon. When we arrived home, I searched for them on the internet, their site was very well set out, and the prices for their properties were very reasonable, so I booked a short break for May this year. Myself and my teenage son arrived on site, and found the Maple Lodge Log Cabin, it was clean and tidy and well equipped. There were was a bottle of wine, and some flowers left which I'm sure couples would appreciate (a nice gesture). Also a loaf of bread and a pint of milk. and there was tea, and coffee. So we could have a hot drink after a long journey. There was the usual pots and pans, cutlery, and plates and cups, and the beds were made up ready. We packed a lot in our short break, we walked up Snowdon twice, using the Rhyd Duu path which is fairly quiet. and straight forward apart from a narrow high ledge. Plus the Watkins path, which is a lot harder and includes some scrambling towards the end. We also explored Beddgelert, Porthmadog, and Caernarfon. It was great having the cabin as a base because there is so much to do, and see, and your never too far from anything "A Perfect Base for Adventures".

We had a fantastic 4 night break in this lovely cozy chalet. It was an ideal base for us and our 12 year old son and our dogs. We climbed Snowdon (though chose the slightly easier Pen y Pass than the Watkin Path that is very close to the cabin) We also visited Beddgelert, Betws y Coed, Porthmadog, Criccieth and Pwllheli, all easily accessed by car from the cabin. The dogs had a great blast along the lovely Black Rock Sands beach even though they had to be kept on leads elsewhere due to the abundance of sheep, lambs and wild goats that inhabit the environs! We had a lovely welcome pack awaiting us on our arrival including a most welcome bottle of wine. A truly lovely and memorable stay

We booked the log cabin last minute, stayed for 4 nights with husband and teenage son, during the stormy, rainy weather. We did have 1 sunny day. The area is beautiful in all season. Because the weather was quite cold, the cabin felt a bit cool, but with some extra layers, it was sorted. Duvets are extremely warm. It was nice to arrive and see fresh flowers and some milk, bread, wine, chocolate waiting for us. Would like to try and return during summer time.

I booked Maple Lodge with my dogs in mind and it certainly didn't disappoint. A cosy cabin just perfect for either a long or short stay, was really comfy and homely and perfect for reaching so many places that Snowdonia has to offer. Black Rock Sands which is only twenty minutes away stretches for two miles and fabulous for running the dogs 'and humans'. I would like to thank Claire and staff for making our stay such a pleasant one and I'm looking forward to returning next year!! :))))

We booked Maple Lodge the same day we travelled and Claire was very accommodating with such short notice for our mid week two night stay. When we arrived its in such an idyllic setting. The treats in the cabin where a very nice surprise, unexpected and a lovely gesture. The cabin was like a home from home. If it hadn't have been booked we would have stayed longer. We will return again soon with our friends and family. no need to look any further we have found our ideal get away place. Donna and Lora.

The Red Dragon lodge is a gem of a find, we absolutely loved it and were very sorry to leave. Nice clean, comfy, cosy lodge in a beautiful woodland setting, perfectly located to explore North Wales. Many beautiful walks within a stones throw of the Red Dragon site. Lots of unexpected extras in our cabin supplied by Claire and Neil that made our stay extra special. And doggie friendly too! Claire was totally unfazed by our two Alaskan Malamutes, being a doggie owner herself. We had a fantastic break and our dogs had the time of their lives. We will certainly be returning and we thouroughly recommend Red Dragon Holidays. Don't waste time thinking about it, just book, you won't regret it!

We stayed at maple lodge for 4 nights. The welcome was great and the welcome pack was much appreciated. The owner Claire was really helpful and flexible with anything we asked for/about. We took our dog and he had a great time too! The cabin is located in a great area for exploring and there are loads of lovely walks including snowdonia itself. The cabin has everything you need for your stay and we were certainly not disappointed and we will definitely be booking again.

We have just come home from our wonderful break in Wales and I need to say that we enjoyed every minute of our stay. On arrival, Claire welcomed us and we felt very special as we were also greeted with beautiful flowers, a great bottle of wine and chocolates - there was also tea/coffee/sugar and bread and milk for us too. Maple Lodge is splendid and cozy, our son stayed in the loft area and loved having his own space. We've already spoken about going back as we really enjoyed ourselves.

We arrived to find a really useful and appreciated welcome pack. The lodge was immaculately clean, very pleasantly decorated and finished off with fresh flowers. We found everything we needed for our stay from kitchen utensils through area guides and the owners were very helpful, thoughtful and gave us a warm welcome. This all resulted in a wonderful holiday with comfortable accommodation in a beautiful area. The location itself is in a wooded area on the approach to Snowdon so also very convenient. Similarly it is close to most areas of Snowdonia, the larger towns and the Lleyn peninsula. We would definitely go back and are really looking forwards to our next stay there.

The chalet is so welcoming and was lit up upon our arrival. The welcome treats were greatly appreciated, my son enjoyed the chocolates and I enjoyed the wine! Although the camp was fully booked, it was so quiet, everyone just enjoying the tranquillity and the scenery. I would return again for sure!

Have used this maple lodge cabin twice now over the last two years and though it may not seem like many; this will always be my first choice of accommodation. The shower is electric, its warm and cosy inside and the decor gives you that wooden cabin feel out in the country. The complimentary wine, bread and milk is a great touch upon opening the door on the first entry. In addition to this the cleaners do a great job making sure it is clean and tidy for the next customers! It's perfect for us as it is situated right next to the foot of the watkin path and should you choose to take this route back it's the greatest feeling knowing that as you descend the steps to the road leading up to the path; you are about 5-10 minutes away from returning to your warm and welcoming cabin. The cooking facilities are great too, I always buy ingredients and whip up a good meal on the first night to pack in the nutrition for the hiking the next day. A lovely stay, set in a great scene with helpful and kind staff there to make sure you have a smooth and pleasant stay.

We stayed here monday to friday and was super excited for our time off work. We did find the cabin a tad cold on the rainy nights but hot water bottles are provided so we made good use of them. 2 of our night stays were much warmer which was great so no need to boil the kettle. To find the playstation 2 was great and even better was the scrabble board!! (we forgot our scrabble so we were very happy to find this there) The copper mine 1 minute drive away was a great activity too and very interesting, especially the small museum they had on site too. Not wheelchair friendly though to those reading this! Caernarfon Castle was a good day out also and not to far of a drive away. Obviously the Watkin Path is a reccommend also, beautiful scenery!! Great cosy stay and the bed was like sleeping in a big cloud, very comfy. We will visit again.

We had an absolutely brilliant time at Maple Lodge. We climbed Snowdon for my Dad's 60th birthday and stayed at the log cabin afterwards. The place was so cozy and we felt completely at home. Me and my brother really enjoyed sleeping in the "crows nest"! It was like we were kids again. The little welcome treats were such a nice touch (bread, milk, chocolates and a bottle of wine). The shower was absolutely brilliant and well needed after we got utterly soaked during the day. We would definitely go back as it was perfect for walking and it's setting is so beautiful (Snowdonia National Park) I'd suggest paying for the wifi thought (£5 for a night). There is no mobile signal in the valley so it's difficult to contact people. I had to use the pay phone!

The lodge was clean, very well equipped kitchen, access to wifi and easy parking the whole time we were there. The location is just so beautiful. Some great walks nearby and a lovely cafe just round the corner. Nice to be close to beddgellert for shops and cafes. Have already booked to return again in a few months.

Arrived early, but that was no problem for Claire, the cabin was being cleaned and was immaculate. Beautiful bedding and lovely soft towels. Husband and kids all really impressed. The cabin had everything you could need, gifted with Bread , Milk, tea, coffee, sugar, sweets and a lovely bottle of wine. Heating was on low, so the cabin had a lovely cosy feel to it. We had some really grotty weather and unfortunately a tree came down and severed the power cable!!! Not a problem for Claire who came and checked on all Pods, Lodges and Cottages and provided us with lights and cooking stoves. So much to do all around; kayaking, visit the beautiful village of Beddgelert and travel into Betws-y-Coed. Walks up the Watkin Path or just relax and play board games (also provided). We will definitely be booking to come back. I hope everyone enjoys this as much as we did. Heidi, Jon, Reece Daisy, the dogs; Kimmy and Whispa x

Beautiful Lodge in beautiful surroundings. The Lodge was immaculate with all the creature comforts we needed for a comfy stay. Located within walking distance of Snowdon and various other picturesque walks. Only a short drive to the local village - with a choice of pubs, restaurants & gift shops. Highly recommend a trip to Zip World - only a 40min drive away. ( a perfect treat for our 12 year old son ). The Red Dragon site was nicely kept with all the amenities we needed. The owners were easy to contact and were more than happy to help with any queries we had before and during our stay. We hope to go back :)

On our recent visit to Maple Lodge, we were delighted & impressed to find welcome gifts of flowers, wine, fresh bread & milk. The cabin was clean, cosy & well equipped, with an outdoor setting on the small front decking. The accommodation is set in lovely surroundings with plants, trees, flowers & ferns. The owner was present but not intrusive in any way. She was warm, friendly.& very approachable. The cabin is perfectly located, close to stunning walking trails, lakes, streams & water falls. Have stayed at Red Dragon before, in the Camping Pod's, this is a considerable upgrade. The lodge is clean, warm & cosy and has everything you should need for a stay in Snowdonia.. we traveled with teenage boys and we all enjoyed our stay. When we arrived, there was tea, coffee bread and milk and all the basics you need to get going. We also appreciated the fresh flowers. The bed is comfortable in the main bedroom and loft space which serves as the bedroom for Children was a little low for teenage boys but not a major problem. You would struggle to find a more central location for walking and sightseeing the magnificent scenery that is the Snowdonia national park. You can get to the Watkin path without the need to drive/park which is actually the most scenic root to the top of Snowdon. I can tell you I will return to Red Dragon early next year, when the snow arrives, I am a keen photographer and this place is so central. I only wish the weather could be more predictable.

Loved staying at the lodge again and liked that I could bring my new puppy. The weather unfortunately was not good but the cabin was warm and cosy and perfect for what was needed. Nearby Saracens Arms was dog friendly so we could take the puppy with us for an evening meal. Some walking in areas around cottage and walking part way up Snowdon was refreshing and exhilarating, and part of the reason for coming! Bottle of wine and chocolates on arrival, and some milk and bread. Will definitely be back at some point!

My partner and I booked this lodge as our first get away together (and my first time to Wales). We arrived very late at night, but having the light and heating left on was a lovely welcome, not to mention the small "gifts" left for us. It's safe to say, we were very excited when we woke up, to unpack and have a real rummage around the place - there seemed to be everything we could possibly think of needing, and more. What we especially enjoyed was having dinner out on the porch most nights! The leaflets left by the TV came in handy too! Luckily we had some beautiful weather for the first three quarters of our holiday, so we truly crammed a lot in. The longest drive we took, was an hour (maximum), to the Zoo. Within walking distance there are a few lakes with stunning views, we went to Sygun Copper Mine, again, 5/10 minutes down the round (in the car). A very quaint converted church / cafe "on the door step". Even a beach that you could drive onto... The local village Beddgelert was beautiful, again with some stunning views and insightful history. A highlight for us, we must admit was climbing Mount Snowdon, again, this was local to the lodge. We have genuinely packed so much into this week away, remembering everything off the top of my head is impossible!!! Our cameras has been maxed out with photos, and the memories we've made here have been amazing! Not looking forward to going back to reality tomorrow! Thank you for a wonderful stay at Maple Log Cabin :)
