From the minute we arrived to the minute we left, Norah and Roger made us feel at home. Firstly we drove through the entire Isle from top to bottom and Waternish is without a doubt one of the prettiest parts of Skye. Every single day of our 5 day stay Norah and Roger went above and beyond to provide us with everything we needed including knowledge of the local area and wildlife to look out for! Hazelbank self catering apartment has everything you need and is incredibly clean and modern yet cosy and traditional. The bed is comfy, the shower is hot and you have everything you need to cook a full roast! The view of the water is absolutely outstanding and such a treat to look out onto every morning and we had all the privacy in the world. If you want a break away with total privacy then this is perfect, however the local pub/restaurant is only a short 5 minute walk away with friendly locals and plenty of good food and drink!! Both having expansive knowledge of the Isle of Skye, Norah and Roger make great adventure planners and can suggest many places to visit during your stay. Our room was absolutely spotless when we arrived and we had everything we needed . And if we had forgotten something then Norah and Roger would have been able to advise or help us out. Both are great hosts providing a beautiful self catering apartment for a very reasonable price. A must! We will be back! Lauren and Ceiron - August 2015

My wife and I had a very enjoyable five day stay in Skye and much of that was due to the location and quality of the holiday apartment that we stayed in. The apartment is ideal for a couple or a single person with their own car. Roger and Norah, the owners, have created a wonderful apartment with everything that you would want or need. (Even a telescope to take advantage of the spectacular view of Loch Bay). Everything in the apartment is of a high standard and it is such a pleasant place to return to after a busy day of sightseeing. We certainly had no problems finding plenty of interesting places to visit. Such spectacular scenery! Roger and Norah make a point of providing a warm welcome and making sure that you know where everything is in the apartment and suggesting places that you might want to visit. They are available if needed either by phone or in person but they leave you to get on with making the most of your holiday. This was our first visit to Skye and we would have no hesitation in recommending Hazelbank as a fantastic place to stay.

I arrived to a very warm welcome and a wonderful location looking over Stein. The facilities are of a high standard. Very comfortable. The owners provided me with some home hospitality of the provision of some goodies to kick start my stay at this location. Norah also provided me with some great advice on where to eat and what to see. Being a person with some dietary requirements, I was provided with some more goodies together with advice on where to purchase items. I highly recommend this cottage and location.

Hazelbank is a perfect holiday apartment with a fantastic view. Nora and Roger were excellent hosts with many suggestions for things to do and places to eat. We took on board their advice which was most welcome. The apartment is stylishly furnished and very well equipped. We really enjoyed the telescope to view the wildlife and the movements of the boats and activities in Stein. We would recommend the Loch Bay restaurant in Stein as well as the Oyster Shed in Carbost as places to eat. The Skye Pie Cafe was also well worth a visit on the Trotternish peninsula. We only wish that we lived closer to facilitate a return visit soon!!

What a lovely apartment!
I have travelled to Skye since 1957, averaging nearly one visit pa.
This has allowed me the opportunity to observe and enjoy many developments. By a long chalk, this is the most remarkable of them all. Uniquely well presented with a view as good as you'll get from the Island, Nora and Roger offer a delightful, clean and uncluttered, yet fully provisioned self catering apartment without equal.
Please visit them and enjoy cooking - and eating! - the delicious bacon and eggs you'll find as a welcome breakfast!

We had the warmest of welcomes and offers of assistance at any point during our stay.
It is hard to think what might have been provided that hadn't been anticipated already.
Although advertised as self catering we were pleasantly surprised to find the ingredients for a cooked breakfast, tea and coffee, milk sugar, flour etc for the bread maker , cleaning products and detergents.
The linen and towels were of the highest quality and there was a supersize smart TV for the hours when the weather turned unpleasant.
The views overlooking the sea made the large picture windows alluring and there was a telescope set up for keen bird watchers.
The sunsets from that vantage are spectacular.

We stayed for a week during October and thoroughly enjoyed Hazelbank as a base...it was lovely to come back to after a day hiking or touring the island. Very modern heating system and extremely well equipped, comfortable bed and terrific views. Added bonus was having a good pub and stunning restaurant within 5 mins. The fresh fish man visits on a Weds...and owner (Roger) can organise a trip around Talisker Distillery for those rainy days. Norah Lynne was very helpful and ensured we were comfortable.

This flat is well situated on Skye. It has spectacular views from a panoramic window to be able to see the weather pass by or see North Uist. The hosts are very generous and hospitable. Plenty to see and do within a short distance or a great launch site off to the rest of the island.

Sehr empfehlenswert

Couldn't have asked for a better holiday rental! Nora and Roger were very welcoming and accommodating and Hazelbank is a perfect base for exploring the whole of the island. We were staying at Hazelbank for our Honeymoon with our Black Lab Ben, the place was very spacious, extremely well equipped and most importantly for us very peaceful. They had very kindly stocked the fridge with things for breakfast even replacing the milk with almond milk when we mentioned we didn't drink milk and leaving a bottle of prosecco for us to celebrate - very thoughtful. There are excellent views from the accommodation and the Stein Inn just a 5 minute walk away. There were huge amounts of books and maps for us to have a look at and get even more ideas of places to go and things to see and Nora was also more than happy to recommend her personal favourites. Great to come back here after a days walking and exploring and just relax away from the crowds at some of the busier places on the island. Would highly recommend!

The Isle of Skye surpassed my expectations. There was beauty round every bend.
The accommodation at Hazelbank was ideal for the two of us. It was clean and tidy and had everything in it needed for it to be a home from home. Norah- Lynne and Roger have thought of absolutely everything. They made us and our 3 dogs extremely welcome. They left the ingredients for a breakfast in the fridge which was very much appreciated, as it meant we didn't have to shop straight away.
We are already in the process of planning our next trip there.
Thank you so much.

A warm welcome from Nora and Roger, including bread and butter, eggs, bacon, milk and some local shortbread biscuits to get us started. The apartment is very comfortable and well equipped (including wi-fi), with some thoughtful touches like a picnic rucksack and a telescope. The views across Loch Bay and beyond to the Western Isles was spectacular, and we were thrilled to see white-tailed eagles from the window.
The location is great: very peaceful, yet a shortish walk (3/4 mile) to the Stein Inn (very good ales) and the excellent Loch Bay restaurant (reviewed separately – booking essential). There is plenty to see and do in the local area, but nowhere is very far by car, and the scenery on the way makes any journey worthwhile (it took about 50 minutes to get to The Quiraing, for example). Thoroughly recommended.

Ok stay, internet was poor and I certainly wouldn’t rely on WiFi and resulted in several trips to Portree for work commitments. Accommodation was ok, but do watch the bathroom sliding door, this sticks and your then stuck in the bathroom !!

We've had a great first time visit to Skye and the apartment was a huge factor in that. It really is a superbly appointed place, very modern but very cosy too and the Waternish peninsula/Loch Bay location is just magic , with the bonus of a the excellent Loch Bay restaurant and Stein Inn within a short walking distance.
We felt at home straight away and the friendly hospitality of Roger and Norah-Lyne was really appreciated.
We would look nowhere else should we return to Skye and will certainly recommend to family/friends/ colleagues.
