The concept of being small but mighty is a horrible cliche and one that we won’t use to describe Lovage. However, we must admit that we didn’t expect a place as small as this to be quite so charming. You can’t get away without mentioning the view. Unremarkable in one direction, but turn the other way and the Torre Velasca looms up. And inside, despite the diminutive footprint, it doesn’t feel too cramped, and the kitchen is far more than an afterthought. *This is a studio – it's pretty small*The street outside is always busy so there's a fair amount of street noise Air ConditioningBalconyBlack-Out BlindsBuzzer / Wireless IntercomDishwasherElectricity AdaptorsHair DryerIronIroning BoardKitchenLift AccessMicrowaveMultiple Sets of KeysRain ShowerThrowsTVWashing MachineWi-fi...More Details
Located on the top floor of a historic building, this home is tucked behind Chinatown (the oldest in the country) and just a thirteen-minute walk from Parco Sempione, where you can spend some time wandering through the city’s greenery until you arrive at Castello Sforzesco. You’ll be staying in a lively and local area, a quick twelve-minute walk from the nightlife hubs of City Life and Arco della Pace, but for a lowkey night out you’ll be by the neighbourhood’s buzzing restaurants and bars. Inside, you’ll find this small space has been carefully designed – bright skylights overhead, a custom-built kitchenette and an angular breakfast nook are arranged to make the most of the little footprint. Striking red furniture and calming blue walls transform this modest modern home into a bold, personality-packed base. So relax on the sofa, enjoy breakfast at the counter and fall asleep soundly in the bedroom, feeling right at home. *The lift onl...More Details

Step into a world of jungle bliss at this tropical home in Milan’s hip Isola neighbourhood. Housed in a former mattress factory dating back to the 1930s, there are still traces of this home’s quirky past hidden amongst its plants’ tangle of fronds, including exposed brick walls, cast iron radiators, cement floors and beautiful beamed ceilings. The living room is decked out in a carousel of ornaments, with giant areca palms framing a shelved feature wall and a grand ornamental fireplace. The dining room is a joy to gather in with its leafy wallpaper and 1950s pink mirror table, while the kitchen looks like a vintage bakery counter with its island, breakfast bar and wicker chairs. Upstairs, the red-curtained bedroom is a sumptuous affair with a mind-boggling floating bed and a freestanding tub that invites long soaks after a day of sightseeing. Speaking of things to do, go out and explore the local area – Isola is packed full of cool cafe...More Details

The sheer amount of natural light in Seedling is remarkable. It’s hard to overestimate the effect that can have on a flat. There’s a relaxed atmosphere to the place, underscored by the abundance of plants and books. It feels like somewhere to retreat to after a day out, whether sightseeing or working. Equally though, you could easily spend hours lounging around that living room. If you couldn’t tell, we’re rather taken by Seedling. *The building has a doorman, but only until 5pm*There are quite a few scuff marks and scratches on the walls*We came across a fair amount of Violetta's belongings when we visited*It's a matter of preference, not a criticism, but the mattress is fairly soft*The shower is 180cm high – tall people might have to duck*There's no dishwasher Air ConditioningBalcony / PatioBathtubBicyclesBuzzer / Wireless IntercomCentral HeatingChild FriendlyCleaning ProductsCooking EssentialsDishwasherDoormanDryerDrying RackFreeze...More Details

Something in the Way
It might seem like a strange place to start, but Ensign’s kitchen is quite remarkable. Of course, not everyone will appreciate the over-the-top design, but the commitment is undeniable. All in all, it comes together well, with a real sense of playfulness. It’s small enough that long-term stays might end with you feeling a bit cooped up, but for shorter stays, it’s more than enough. *As the flat is on the ground floor, there are bars on the windows*It's quite a small flat, without a real living room*There's no dishwasher or laundry facilities*There isn't much going on in the immediate area, and it takes half an hour to get to the city centre on the metro*Some of the decor is playful yet definitely bold Air ConditioningAmazon PrimeBathrobesBlenderBoard GamesBuzzer / Wireless IntercomCarbon Monoxide DetectorCentral HeatingCleaning ProductsCoffee MakerCooking EssentialsDVD LibraryDVD PlayerElectricity AdaptorsExtra Pillows and BlanketsFir...More Details
