    We live in a community of 100 year old private homes originally built as one of the first suburbs of New York City. It is a Victorian style house less than 1 block from the subway, about a 20 minute ride to Mid-Town Manhattan. We have 2 sons, one who just received his Masters and another who is an actor. Neither of our sons are living with us now. We have been hosting students from around the world who come to study English in NY for about 10 years. We have a large eat in kitchen and a pretty untamed backyard as well as a front porch where you can watch the neighborhood walk by. We are about a 10 minute walk to Prospect Park which was designed by the same team that designed its more famous sister Central Park. The house does have wi-fi. We provide sheets and towels so you don't have to fill your suitcases with that. We are located in the East Village, a short walk, bus, or subway ride from many NYC neighborhoods. There is an elevator in the building, though the apartment is on the second floor. There is a laundry room in the building as well. We are a friendly and easy going, empty-nester couple, who loves to travel, watch television series, and eat out.
