Say the name Ramsgate and it doesn't exactly conjure up images of art, elegance and design, but we're happy to let this charming Georgian home prove us wrong. Set in a beautifully restored Georgian townhouse, this home makes the most of its original features, including exposed wooden floors and an ornate fireplace. But cool, contemporary and quirky are the buzz words here. The floors are painted a glossy black. The monochrome L-shaped sofa is more Austen Powers than Jane Austen. Modern artwork makes a bold statement on the walls, and an abundance of houseplants add warmth and character in every room (check out the botanical scene in the bathroom). Well, little wonder – host Kate is an interior designer. The light-filled kitchen with sensational marble counter-tops and high-spec cooking equipment is the heart of the home – putting together dinner here will be a delight, not a chore. And even better? This home is in a superb central locat...More Details

Just steps from Charminster High Street, this ground floor flat is brimming with Victorian character. It's a lovely red-brick townhouse, with plenty of historic charm to admire – think high ceilings and picture rails, ornamental ceiling roses, tall skirting boards and large bay windows flooding the rooms with light. Though it's on the smaller side, it's been well-designed to maximise the space – we think it's perfectly suited to a couple after a romantic escape. Read the morning paper in the plush armchair, help yourself to a selection of cereals and teas at the rustic breakfast bar or unwind after a busy day with a movie night in the cosy living room. The kitchenette is more suited to light bites than extravagant meals, so in the evenings you may want to dine out – there's an array of cafes, pubs and restaurants in Charminster to choose from. Bournemouth town centre and its sandy beaches are a twenty-five-minute walk (though we recomme...More Details

Blue Suede Style
In a lovely part of Stockbridge with plenty of shops and cafes just a short walk away, this townhouse feels like an excellent family home. The living room benefits from a big bay window and high ceilings, but is made to feel innately snug thanks to tartan chairs and faux-fur throws. The kitchen is remarkable in an entirely different way, with loads of space and a pretty professional set-up meaning it will appeal to any budding chef. Elsewhere, we like the stained glass windows in the bathroom inspired perhaps inspired by Charles Rennie Mackintosh — let's not go into his Glaswegian connection here — as well as the pleasantly landscaped garden with seating should the sunshine break through the clouds during your stay. If it doesn't, that's no bother because there's plenty to do nearby — the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art is just over a quarter of an hour walk away, while the equally close by streets of Dean Village are a treat to...More Details

In an era where high streets are fighting against chains, Burnham Market is a true champion against looking like any old town. The village has built its reputation on local businesses, quality, and uniqueness, which makes it a place you're likely to return to. Such a great village deserves an appropriately unique stay, which is where Grayling comes in. The outsides look fairly rustic, but the modern, velvety insides will guarantee you a comfortable stay in a professionally curated home. Some serious interior design work has gone into making this home look like a sleek family home that makes almost anyone feel welcome as soon as they enter. The bare bones of this home ensure there's plenty of light coming through at any hour of the day, especially in the open-plan dual aspect kitchen/dining/living room, but you'll also have access to an enclosed garden that includes an outdoor dining area * The house rules are quite strict — no parties,...More Details

The Pearl Fishery
A modern yet cottage-like feel in a capital city sounds pretty hard to find, but this maisonette in Fulham is sure to delight. On this peaceful street of terraced houses, you’ll feel right at home as you enter the large living space. The decor channels a mature English country vibe that you might not expect in London. Distressed wooden frames and an antique-style map bring some old-time charm to the living space. Sink into plush sofas in pale pinks and neutrals, and get comfy on floral, patterned cushions. But upon further inspection, the ultra-modern kitchen and bathrooms contrast everything about this decor. The surprises continue with the architecture itself – the mezzanine floor over the living area is a rare feature, as is the private roof terrace. This brings a continental vibe to the otherwise traditional elements of the interior, especially when you throw a rooftop barbecue into the mix. If you ever manage to descend from that p...More Details
